Responsible Business – Let’s take responsibility

Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of Rezidor's broader commitment to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety. Our hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and Rezidor's corporate international charity organisation, the World Childhood Foundation. The mission of Childhood is to defend the rights of the child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world.  More informations: www.childhood.org

Here are some of the Responsible Business activities and achievements of this hotel:

- Constantly energy-saving actions throughout the hotel
- Exact waste separation (glass, paper, plastic, residual waste)

- RB-Actions in the Radisson Blu Resort Schloss Fleesensee:

• Blood Donation (2 x per year)
• "Gemeinsam Tafeln" - We have a barbeque in the centre of the town Waren with inhabitants and everybody else who wants to join us. The donation will be given to the people in need.
• Every Wednesday we give hot soup to the "Warener Tafel", which gives about 150 people a hot meal.

• Implementation of the RB Philosophy to new staff
• The independent testing organisation, TÜV Rheinland, has certified the environmental management system of 15 Radisson SAS hotels throughout Germany.We have implement this environmental management system in our hotel.The aim of certification to the internationally recognised ISO 14001 standard is the systematic reduction of risks to the environment and the improvement of environmental performance. The introduction of the environmental management system brings certain considerable cost benefits for the hotel alongside the positive ecological effects. It is possible to make significant water and energy savings in particular in the hotel.
